I’m Anita, a science writer.
I believe that well-written articles can explain even the most complex of concepts. With careful crafting, words can inform, educate and influence – even in science. Especially in science.

I’ve interviewed 100+ scientists to develop stories and produce scientific content such as articles, eBooks, and videos. My repertoire extends to a wide variety of topics including neuroscience, cancer biology, gene therapy, precision medicine, and more.
In other words, it’s safe to call me a nerd. I won’t be offended.
My personal academic journey has helped me understand (and enjoy) the art of scientific storytelling. For the better part of a decade, I used to be a neuroscientist. (Yep, definitely a nerd.)
As a former researcher of Alzheimer’s disease, I’ve designed experiments, dissected brains, peered down the microscope, written manuscripts… you get the gist. I’m fortunate to have experienced the scientific process, which is why I instantly connect with scientists. Being on the ‘other side’ taught me, first hand, the importance of communicating well in science.
Though a trained neuroscientist, I’m a storyteller at heart. I thrive where science meets communication. Technically speaking…

When producing an article, I use my training in academia to fact-check and ask relevant questions. When writing a draft, I use my years of experience as a science writer, notably for SelectScience, NIH Research Matters, and Knowing Neurons, to develop a story for the relevant audience.
If your company needs a piece of scientific storytelling, talk to me.
Best,
Anita
